Reflections of the South |
The Louisiana Cajun Doll is a character doll depicting the hard life of the Cajuns who were exiled from their home land of Acadia. This character doll is dressed in a typical everyday garment of the era. (Jewelry and dress fabric/prints may vary depending upon availability.) Her cloth hat is a replica of the head pieces that were drawn in sketches of that time. She stands 18 inches in height and is set on a hand-crafted wooden pedestal designed by Brian Bernard. She holds a basket of Louisiana Moss, the moss was used to stuff mattresses for bedding. JoAnn's unique doll body design allows The Louisiana Cajun to be positioned in various ways by bending her arms at the elbow joints. This feature adds to the life-like quality of the piece. Accompanying the character doll is a booklet and display card designed by JoAnn to include; the number of the piece, the inspirational sketch, a short bio, and a story about the character. All clay pieces are limited editions of 500. A numbered and signed Certificate of Authenticity is also provided with the character doll.
